Is not change necessary???

What have we become now???
It is indeed a big question that we must ask ourselves.
We are losing our basic character, a character that seperates us from the beasts and gives us the specification of human beings - Humanity.
Last day I had a very bitter experience as to how people show extreme difference between what they say and do.. When we speak of showing love, shouldn't we atleast make others feel that we are putting in an effort to match up with our words. It is strange how we undervalue human values and emotions in this "growing" society of ours.
Let me borrow the words of a friend of mine in standard VIII : "The leaders say that our nation is growing, but I can't understand if they are realizing where our moral standards are set.!!!" I think she is absolutely true. Almost a month ago we had great news n talks about the Delhi gang rape case, but what exactly did we do to prevent such things from happening again??? How many school and college managements took initiatives to bring positive changes to the students thoughts.??
Why do we consider education only as a way to get a job, money or status??? We still don't value the power of knowledge.. How many of us show compassion to a child in the streets?? Why can't we think that they are also human beings? One of the most weirdest things I have seen is how students of  private schools treat students of Govt. schools!! When will we be taught that money doesn't always rule human life..???
We are taught when we are children, do good and God will reward you, but doesn't God reward Govt. officials and leaders( i don't mean to harm everyone, but sure there are many who belong to this category) who gets paid to do service, so that they have to corrupt??? Who will stop this dreadful corruption that has set in??
When we speak of development all the time, take some time to think why it hadn't rained for several months.. Who will teach us to throw wastes in dustbin, to not to smoke in the public and plant trees(water them as well!!)???
We have had great leaders in the past and we still have many among us, but who will take an effort to bring out real talents, so that changes are made?? Doesn't anyone want change???
And trust me changes, like every revolution, begins in the mind of one single man..
Can't you be the  ONE???
